Noah’s Semi-hollow bass

A new Customer (Noah) has commissioned me to build one of my “Betty” semi-hollow basses.  He liked the ones I have built before but wanted one with a few changes.  He wanted me to make the F holes look like water drops and dye the top blue.  He also specified that I use some TV Jones Thunder Blade pickups.  These pickups sound great and will be set into Gretsch style rings.  This allows me to leave out the center block, remove a great deal of the interior wood, and thus leaving the bass lighter in weight with a big round tone.  We are going with a 31 inch scale as opposed to the regular 32 inch scale.  I also incorporated a smaller lighter weight bridge made by Hipshot.  We will have the strings fed through the body.   The neck will be Rock Maple with an Macassar Ebony fret board with 20 frets.  The body core will be Sapele and I will top it with the Maple you see in the pictures.  This will be a cool bass for sure.
