DC Model 7 121511

This is another great Mk7 (model #7) 32 inch medium scale bass that has been around for awhile. She was started in Dec of 2011 and was completed in Feb of 2012.
Her features are a quarter sawn Jatoba neck with a Walnut stringer. She has Macassar Ebony fret board with 26 frets. Inside the neck she has a dual action truss rod and two carbon fiber bars to keep the neck stable.
Her body is laminated from strips of Mahogany, Walnut and Maple. The center cap and peghead veneer are of a swirly figured Walnut.
Her electronics are EMG DC35 with a BTS (Bass and Treble) EQ system.  I made the bass so that it could be modified later if need be.  I planned the design so that a second pickup could be added (another cavity could be routed) and the preamp could be switched to fit into one hole allowing for a blend control.
We did find that her tone is just simply awesome with the single pickup and EQ. I can get nice gritty low end out of her with just enough top end to define the notes. Her action is a dream to play and she has a nice slap tone.
